Robert E. Farrell, Senior Vice President, Fresenius Medical Care

Mr. Farrell is a senior executive with Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), the world’s leading renal therapies company with annual revenues in excess of $10 Billion. FMC provides dialysis services to approximately 185,000 patients in its over 2300 clinics worldwide and it is the clear leader in the development and manufacture of technology, products, and therapies for the treatment of renal disease.

Mr. Farrell has been with the FMC organization for sixteen years and has broad management experience spanning finance and operations, business analysis, technology assessment, sales and marketing, government reimbursement, strategic planning, business development, licensing and acquisitions functions. In his tenure at FMC Mr. Farrell has held the positions of Vice President of Finance, Vice President National Account Sales and Senior Vice President for Strategic Business Development. Concurrently Mr. Farrell also served as Business Unit Compliance Officer for the Products Division in regards to its Corporate Integrity Agreement with the U.S. Government.

Mr. Farrell currently has full executive and P&L management responsibility for the company’s subsidiaries KidneyTel, which provides comprehensive integrated care management services to commercial insurance payers to improve renal patient outcomes and reduce total healthcare spending for these payers; and Fresenius Medical Care Health Plan, Inc., a Medicare Advantage Insurance Plan specifically designed for patients with End Stage Renal Disease, which has been created under a demonstration project with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Mr. Farrell received an MBA in Finance from Fordham University and a BS in Accounting from Richard Stockton College.




Peter F. Sauer, M.Ed.

Peter F. Sauer, serves as the Vice President – General Manager of Fresenius Medical Care Health Plan (FMCHP). Mr. Sauer has been with Fresenius since 2002. In his role as VP/GM Mr. Sauer is responsible for the day to day coordination and operations of this Medicare Advantage Chronic Special Needs health plan. Additionally he provides management and oversight with our insurance partners, service vendors, CMS and Medicaid agencies.

Prior to joining FMCNA Mr. Sauer served as the Executive Vice President of Renal Disease Management, Inc. In that role he was instrumental in developing the Company’s disease management program. Mr. Sauer negotiated RDM’s first global risk disease management contract with Anthem BCBS as well as numerous other managed care contracts for the Company’s operations. Mr. Sauer has held a number of executive level positions in both provider-based and managed care organizations including Physicians Health Services (PHS), a 1,500,000-member, multi-state HMO, where he was responsible for system-wide ancillary contracts, Medicare+Choice risk contracts, hospital service agreements and general business development activities. Additionally while at PHS, Mr. Sauer served as the President & Chief Operating Officer of MasterCare of CT, a workers compensation managed care subsidiary of PHS. In this role, Mr. Sauer oversaw the operations of clinical case managers, network development staff, sales and underwriting and corporate finance.

Mr. Sauer holds a BA. in Political Science and a BS in Sports Medicine from The American University in Washington, DC. He also earned a masters degree in Exercise Physiology from Salisbury University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Youngstown Symphony Society and numerous community programs.




Stephen D. McMurray, MD FACP

Dr. McMurray is a graduate of Indiana University Medical School and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He practiced nephrology for 31 years at Indiana Medical Associates, a 35-physician multi-specialty group in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was one of the founding members of Renal Care Group and was a member of its board of directors until Fresenius Medical Care acquired Renal Care group in April of 2006. He is a past member of the board of directors of the Renal Physicians Association and served on the Medical Review Board for network 9, 10 for many years. He has served as Medical Director for Fresenius Medical Care Health Plan for the last two years. He has been active in the nephrology community and has published articles relating to the provision of cost effective quality medical care.

Becky A. Lee RN

Becky Lee is Director for the Quality, Compliance programs for KidneyTel and Fresenius Medical Care Health Plan, and for the clinical oversight for KidneyTel and Fresenius Medical Care Health Plan nursing staff located in Waltham Mass, and remotely throughout the United States. She joined the KidneyTel team in 2002 and has background as Director for Field Care Management, Director Quality for RHC, Regional Manager for North Eastern and Western, Central and Southern regions of the US for field based and telephonic care managers. She is a Certified Nephrology Nurse, with a renal background as Regional Educator, Interim Facility Clinical Management, Acute and Chronic In center Dialysis staff and charge nurse. She serves on the advisory board for the Clover Park Technical Training program for Certified Dialysis Technician training in Washington State and also partnered with Nephrologist Vo Dang Nguyen’s dialysis team with the Fistula First Program in 1996. By 2002, the Northwest Renal Network had adopted his approach for the Network’s VA Quality Improvement Program as mandated by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Prior to her renal experience Becky Lee served in an impoverished community in a variety of nursing capacities such as OB/GYN, labor and delivery, ER, Coronary Care, Pediatric, Med/Surg and Family Practice.
